 The project involves the removal and construction of new play equipment and associated BBQ amenities. The Australian Government, through the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, will contribute $415,000 to the $850,000 project. 

The new play space will include: 

• 25m double sky rider (flying fox)
• Multi-play skytower
• Rock climbing block
• Swing set with an inclusive seat
• 2.3m wheelchair-accessible carousel
• Three mini trampolines
• A balance trail
• A junior multi-play unit
• A winding bike path
• additional play equipment shade
• new shelters
• New barbeques

Project Updates

August 2023

• Lions Park Playground Upgrades is now completed. 

July 2023

• Finishing components of the park including:
  • Line marking path
  • final surface instillation

• Play equipment installed
• Rubber surface installed

June 2023

• Sandstone block work completed 
• Sandstone garden edging works completed
• Shared Footpaths commenced and progressing
• New shelter install commenced

Play equipment install schedule to commence 19 July

May 2023

• Base works for paths, rubber soft pour & synthetic turf
• Sandstone block work for retainers & landscaping

May 2023

• All demolition been completed
• Concrete slabs for shelters & BBQ's have been completed
• New conduits for power and CCTV is installed
• Sub surface drainage works are now complete
• Earth works for footpath and play equipment is underway

April 2023

Construction on the Lions Park play equipment upgrades has commenced. Removal of Play equipment and BBQ shelters is currently underway.
