Mayor: Parkes Hospital Deserves Respect & Access To Maternity Services

On the 19 March 2025 the Deputy Mayor Marg Applebee and I travelled to Sydney to meet with the Minister for Health the Hon. Ryan Park to once again fight for maternity services for Parkes.
It quickly became apparent that maternity services are now a statewide issue, with many hospitals in the region, including some of the larger hospitals, run entirely by locum doctors that fly-in and fly-out.

NSW Police along with Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shire Councils are encouraging all road users to take care on the roads this April.

Road Closures

Parkes Shire Council wishes to advise of the following current road closures throughout the Parkes Shire.

Intention to Financially Support the Trundle Children's Centre

On display until 15 April 2025

Parkes Shire Council intends to set aside $100,000 in financial assistance to support a grant application by the Trundle Children's Centre to build a new facility, noting that this support will be withdrawn and the funds will become uncommitted should the grant application not be successful. The funds will be set aside in the Trundle Town Improvement Reserve.
