Public Notice: Peak Hill Pool Opening Delay

On display until 30 November 2024, 12:00 AM

Council would like to advise that the pool rectification works which are being undertaken to address the lining issues at the Peak Hill pool has experienced delays larger than originally anticipated due to scope negotiations with the contractor. The planned works included removing and replacement of the fibre glassing within sections of the pool, as it had failed and de-laminated in areas in both the lap pool and toddlers pool.

There has been significant negotiation between Parkes Shire Council and the contractor regarding the correct repair method, and extent of works which has required engagement of independent structural engineers. The negotiations had concluded as of last Friday 11th October 2024. Works have commenced at the pool on Monday 14th October 2024, and is anticipated to span a total of 6 weeks. The planned opening of the pool will move from the 2 November 2024 to 23 November 2024, a total delay of 3 weeks.

As an interim measure, Belgravia Leisure have offered free pool entry into the other facilities managed by them being Parkes, Dubbo and Wellington upon providing proof of residence at Peak Hill.

We appreciate your patience in ensuring the facility is completed to a high-standard and we apologise for any inconvenience.
