Trundle Main Street Gets a Makeover

The main street of Trundle, boasting the title of the widest in NSW, underwent a revitalisation thanks to a joint effort between Parkes Shire Council, the NSW Government, and the local community.

Parkes Shire Council secured a significant grant of $945,400 from the NSW Government's Your High Street program. This funding, coupled with a $100,000 contribution from Sunrise Energy Metals (formerly Clean TeQ) through a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA), fuelled the project's vision.

Mayor of Parkes Shire, Neil Westcott, said Council is thrilled to witness the completion of this project.

"The revitalised main street prioritises pedestrian safety and accessibility, boasts beautiful new tree plantings, and features a vibrant community hub perfect for gatherings and events," Mayor Westcott said.

"The enthusiastic participation of the Trundle community was invaluable. Their ideas and solutions shaped this project, and we have no doubt the main street will become a thriving hub for connection and community spirit," added Mayor Westcott.

This transformed main street stands as a testament to the power of collaboration. Through a combination of government funding, community engagement, and local business support, the project has created a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. The iconic Trundle main street is ready to write a new chapter, fostering a stronger sense of community and becoming a destination for locals and visitors alike.
