Cr Jayet is serving his third term on Council.

First elected in 2016, three months after retiring as a Senior Journalist with the Parkes Champion Post and a career spanning 38 years with the newspaper, Cr Jayet is the partner of the late Lindy Farrant and the proud father of their two adult children Hannah and Drew.

He is well known for his love of the arts and is a Life Member of the Parkes Musical and Dramatic Society.

Cr Jayet serves on a wide range of committees and is proud to be a member of a Council that continues to achieve for the betterment of the whole shire.

He regards himself as a team-player and in this respect lists amongst the most gratifying results the delivery of a range of projects with families as the main beneficiaries.

During the last term of Council these family-friendly projects have included the Akuna Wetlands, Lake Endeavour Places to Swim, Kelly Reserve Water Fun and Ninja Park area, the Lions Park playground and infrastructure improvements at Peak Hill, Tullamore, Trundle and Bogan Gate.

As is evident from the many committees with which he is involved, Cr Jayet has an eclectic set of interests and is willing to work hard, listen carefully to the ratepayers, and act accordingly to ensure the progress and prosperity of the Parkes Shire.

Above all, he feels privileged to have been elected for a third term and is determined to work hard for all.
