Today epilepsy is recognized as one of the world’s most common serious brain disorders, affecting more than 70 million people at any given time. It is estimated that around 257,000 children, young people and adults are living with epilepsy in Australia alone and 800,000 Australians will develop epilepsy during their lifetime.

With expert knowledge acquired over 70 years of service, Epilepsy Action Australia offers world-class education and support services nationally, with a determined commitment to deliver equitable and consistent services to all Australians regardless of where they live. The huge range of services includes patient and community education, seizure management plans, emergency medication training, workshops and residential programs that increase epilepsy awareness, understanding, knowledge and skills to give people living with epilepsy the best quality of life possible.

The National Epilepsy Line

The National Epilepsy Line is a free phone, email and telehealth service delivered by specialist, trained and supportive epilepsy nurses.  Whether your question is about understanding your epilepsy or medications, managing your seizure triggers, first aid for seizures, or how your epilepsy impacts your daily life, there is no question too small.  Simply call 1300 37 45 37 or email epilepsy@epilepsy.org.au or book an appointment online.
