Proposed Closure of Cheney Oval Public Toilets, Parkes

Parkes Shire Council is proposing to close the Cheney Oval public toilets to general access due to ongoing vandalism, which has resulted in repeated damage, increased maintenance costs, and safety concerns.

Proposed Banning of Dogs from Sporting Fields

Submissions closing on 17 May 2026, 05:00 PM

Parkes Shire Council is currently reviewing the potential banning of dogs from Harrison Park, Woodward Oval and Keast Park.
This review is being undertaken due to ongoing issues with dog owners failing to collect dog waste, which poses serious health risks to users of these facilities for sporting and recreational purposes.

Development Applications on Exhibition

Council places Development Applications on the MyParkes portal from time to time as and when they are ready for public exhibition. Check this site periodically to find any DAs you may wish to review.

The MyParkes Portal web site displays all Development Applications currently on public exhibition within the Parkes Shire.
